Eggs done properly, toasties with a fried egg on top, and Mediterranean plates to pick at with a glass of something. Plus scones, cake and a counter of pastries by the door.

Grilled halloumi with spiced sausage, falafel on rocket, warm flatbread and a yoghurt dip slicked with oil and herbs.

Bring the dog. They mean it.
The Remedy puts it right in their own Instagram bio, paw print and all: pet friendly. Not tolerated-in-the-doorway friendly — a green room with rugs, low chairs and enough space between tables that a lead isn't a trip hazard.
Which makes it a decent halfway point on a Leith Walk wander, for you and for whoever dragged you out.
The room
Deep green walls and a cartwheel in the window.
Gold script over a charcoal front, bay trees either side of the door, and a pastry counter you walk straight past on the way in. Inside it turns green, warm and low-lit, with framed Leith prints and fairy lights along the shelf.
Book a table
Save yourself a seat by the fire.
Small groups, birthdays, or a quiet corner and a pot of tea. The back nook takes larger tables if you're gathering a few people.
